{I attended this event as media but no other compensation was provided. Thoughts are my own.} In honor of the inaugural Esporão Day, the winery and Evan Goldstein, MS invited me an other writers from the area to “celebrate our Portugality.” Without this country’s agricultural and epicurean contributions, our tables would look very different. Without […]
As media, I get invited to some pretty fantastic events around Austin. I don’t receive compensation other than the yummy food and drink. Here are a few I recently attended: Last Thursday, The Wine and Food Foundation held Toast of Texas, an event honoring the wines featured in Jessica Dupuy’s list of the best wines […]
I previously shared about our first stop on the “en primeur” media tasting of barrel tastings in the Texas Hill Country at Wedding Oak Winery. This week, we continue with Texas Tuesday in Tow, Texas. For our next stop on the Roll Out the Barrel Tour, we went back to the root of the Hill […]

Cerulean blue in the sky, an array of pink in my glass. Is there a better way to spend a day? As the Texas Wine industry continues […]
The wildflowers aren’t the only thing blooming this time of year in Texas. While I’m a proponent of drinking rosé all year, sales of the pretty pink bottles soar in spring and summer. To kick off the season, Texas Wine Revolution will be held at the Horseshoe Bay Resort on Sunday, April 22nd from 1-5pm. […]
We are now in our 7th year here in Austin. If you’ve participated before, thank you. If you are in any of the cities we have Gobble, Gobble, Give, consider volunteering. This year we are returning to straight potluck (we had started buying meals) which means we can’t do it without you, without each other. […]
I compared clones from neighboring vineyards and vertical samples from one plot. I tasted Pinot Gris that cleansed and teased my palate, Pinot Blanc, layered and zesty. I had a few sparkling wines and flat wines that sparkled. And while the wines warmed and pleased my palate, the winemakers, owners, and representatives warmed my heart.
